Kenya Run 5K

Good Hope, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to improving access to clean water in African communities, recently sponsored an exhilarating 5K race in Nandi County, Kenya. The event took place at Kapsisywa High School, situated in the heart of Nandi County. This initiative aimed to raise funds for the construction of a well at the high school, furthering Good Hope's mission. The race brought together eight elementary schools, fostering a spirit of friendly competition and community support. Notably, live sheep were awarded as prizes to the winners, adding an element of excitement. The deadline for contributions towards the well project is July 2nd, 2023, and Good Hope is already planning another Kenya Run 5K event for students next year, with the date yet to be confirmed.

The Race

In the beautiful setting of Nandi County, Kenya, Good Hope, Inc. organized an exhilarating 5K race at Kapsisywa High School. This event brought together the energy and enthusiasm of eight elementary schools, fostering a vibrant atmosphere of camaraderie and sportsmanship. The race course showcased the scenic landscapes of Nandi County, providing participants with an exciting and challenging experience.

Sheep Prizes

To make the event even more memorable, Good Hope, Inc. decided to award live sheep as prizes to the winners of the Kenya Run 5K. This unique approach not only celebrated the participants' achievements but also symbolized the importance of livestock and sustainability within the local community. The winners proudly carried home their sheep prizes, serving as a tangible reminder of their accomplishment and the positive impact of their participation on the cause.

Contributions for the Well Project

Recognizing that access to clean water is essential for thriving communities, Good Hope, Inc. has set a deadline of July 2nd, 2023, for individuals and organizations to contribute towards the construction of a well at Kapsisywa High School. Every donation, regardless of its size, plays a vital role in bringing clean water closer to the school and improving the lives of its students and the wider community. By contributing to this initiative, supporters become essential contributors to transforming lives and fostering sustainable development.

Future Plans

Following the success of the Kenya Run 5K, Good Hope, Inc. is excited to continue their efforts in the coming year. Plans are already underway for another Kenya Run 5K event, exclusively for the students at Kapsisywa High School. Although the specific date is yet to be confirmed, this future event aims to promote physical fitness, community engagement, and further fundraising to improve water access in the area. Good Hope, Inc. remains committed to empowering communities and creating a brighter future for all.

Doing Good Together

Because of you, we were able to fund three wells in Ghana in 2016, a well in Leala, Tanzania in 2015 and a well in Moi's Bridge, Kenya in 2014 and most recently a well in Morocco (2019). These wells provide drinkable water for schools and thousands of adults and children in the surrounding villages. Prior to the wells being dug some villagers had to walk up to four miles to get drinkable water.
