Good Hope Foods
Good Hope Foods has been feeding the hungry of the North Shore for over 10 years.
Because of a capacity building grant which we received in 2016, we are now able to serve over 400 people every month. The amount of food that we have been distributing has increased in the last 5 years from 6,000 lbs. to 28,000 lbs. of food every month.
Food Pantry
Unlike any other year, 2020 was special because as the economic pressure caused by the pandemic reached new levels, the large population lost their sources of income and found themselves in a transitional point. Good Hope, Inc stepped up through our Foods Program and established a Foods Drive Through. At the peak of the pandemic Good Hope Foods through our dedicated volunteers, had an opportunity of servicing close to 2,000 families per month from our past number of 600 families.
Due to the high demand for Food, we switched from serving families on a bimonthly to a weekly basis. Good Hope, Inc rented a 40ft refrigerated container currently being used to store frozen and perishable foods. In partnership with Greater Boston Foodbank, Good Hope became a beehive of activity as social distancing volunteers pushed themselves forward day by day to make sure no family was turned away without receiving their weekly supply.
