October 20, 2025Clean Water for Aler, Uganda — Your Support Made It Possible
Thanks to the generosity and participation of our community at the Running & Walking Well 5K on June 7th, we’re overjoyed to share that a brand-new well has been completed in Aler, Uganda!
This well is more than a project—it’s a lifeline for families who have long relied on distant, unsafe sources for daily water needs.
What This Well Provides
-
Daily Output: 2,500–3,000 gallons of clean, safe water
-
Population Served: Approximately 6,000 people across four villages
-
Previous Challenge: Families walked 6–8 kilometers to reach water
-
Build Time: Completed in just five days
-
Sustainability: A local maintenance committee has been established to ensure care and long-term use
Bishop Alfred Ayer of the Assemblies of God Uganda shared this message of thanks:
“God has saved us from the long walk for water. We are jubilating!”
Why This Matters
Clean water doesn’t just hydrate—it transforms entire communities. With reliable access close to home, families experience:
-
Improved health and hygiene
-
More time for work, education, and family care
-
Increased safety for women and children who no longer need to walk long distances
Thank You
To every runner, donor, sponsor, and volunteer—your efforts made this possible. Your support will continue to ripple through this community for years to come.
Why We Run. Why It Matters.

Every step taken in our 9th Annual Running & Walking Well 5K was all about hope, health, and humanity.
The community of Aler, Uganda walked over 3.7 miles daily to fetch unsafe water shared with animals. Children carried heavy jerry cans. Families faced illness, and the current water source was drying up.
Not anymore, thanks to all who joined the movement.
